the betty dress

Matt got me some pretty epic Christmas presents this year and one of them was 'The Betty Dress' from sew over it. Unbeknownst to Matt I'd been lusting over their patterns for quite some time so it was the perfect gift! Last weekend I took a trip to the Clapham store to purchase some fabric, it was a miserable day, but it was worth it to see the lovely range of fabrics they have. I also really liked the business card's they give out which serve a dual purpose as a mini sewing kit! Adorable!

The dress itself was super easy to put together and I even had enough fabric spare to making a matching tie belt. The thing that was trickiest was the size of the skirt pattern pieces - they are absolutely huge! This wouldn't be a problem if I had a lovely huge space to work in but in our studio flat it was quite the challenge to lay out the fabric and pattern piece, I literally had to shift furniture! It was worth it though the fullness of the skirt really makes it...

Sweet! I love the neckline, so pretty. Good fabric choice, lady! :)

Thanks lovely! I was in two minds about the fabric at first I'd originally picked a different one but there wasn't enough of it so I switched!
