crazy cardigan

sleeves up

sleeves down

This cardigan came about because I was sorting through my yarn and noticed I had rather alot of this stuff left over from a workshop I'd done in May. I started it back in August, then kind of forgot about it till around christmas, during which time I discovered I don't really like sewing up or neck bands or buttons, so only did the finishing this week. It was my first attempt at my own pattern which was a learning curve, especially the stripes (because weaving in takes forever!) Also the sizing and shaping - I had wanted it to be quite loose fitting but perhaps it is a little too loose fitting, hence the addition of a belt. The colours are a little hard to match - I may have to actually wear trousers for once as it seems like a jeans kind of cardigan perhaps. Anyway there was lessons learnt, discoveries made, etc so all in all it was quite a fun experience and is something I can definitely see areas for improvements which I think is why I'm quite excited by it all.

p.s Can't wait to see the Yohji Yamamoto exhibtion at the V&A which opens next month!
