jam and neck warmers

January has been busy (obviously not here on the blog mind!) I've been making odd bits and pieces and nothing in particular really. I knitted this neckwarmer out of left over yarn (from here, here and here) and attempted to make jam. I say attempted as for those of you who can read what it says on the label 'it's actually more like a syrup. oops' this could be for one of two reasons. One - I have never made jam before two - I tried a superjam recipe that used grape juice instead of sugar... which I now that I've attempted I remain somewhat unconvinced about. - it just would not set! Apparently it tastes nice though, which is handy as I filled several jars. I really like the idea of making jam though which is a little odd as I don't actually like it myself. I'm going to try and conquer marmalade this week. I cycled up to a farm last weekend who run a marmalade competition and despite my jam being a failure I am undeterred! Something to do...

Possibly the most exciting thing in January was this - one of my knitted planes on easyjets website! The wonderful Drink, Shop, Do were featured in the inflight magazine. You can still catch a few of my pieces up there although I must apologise they are a little thing on the ground at the moment, I need to take some new pieces up asap.

Also I went to see Black Swan, it was amazing, although a little disturbing.

Nice neck worm!!!
I also went to see Black Swan this week. I felt a bit traumatised afterwards...and a little put off ballet. Good though (I think).

Thanks miss! I saw yours and thought hmm left over yarn... it must be done! it's SO warm too which is rather excellent given how freezing it is atm!
+ yeah traumatised is a much better word! I kept thinking about it for like quite a few days! eeesh!

I read a mention of you in MAKING magazine, so had to come and have a look. I made one of these neck warmers from left over wool too... called it a scarf though!Off to see if I can find a pic of your planes now....

I was mentioned in MAKING magazine? I don't even know what that is!
I would of called it a scarf if it had any ends... but it's one big circle that keeps wrapping round ;)
